Read full description of the books What Janie Found:The book I read was What Janie Found by Caroline B. Cooney. Throughout her whole life, Janie's past hurt herself and others. She thought she knew the answers to the same question, why?-- apparently, she did not. With the results she finds, trouble comes along. Both of Janie's families seem to have made peace and life seems normal again. However, a tragedy hits her family in Connecticut and Janie must step in to manage the family finances. But when doing this, she discovers some terrible secrets that will destroy both families. She must now solve this problem, alone and wisely. Will she solve it? What secrets are hiding? In the story, Janie experiences character vs. self. Throughout the book, Janie changes her decisions that are made to bust and interrogate Hannah(whenever she sees her). She wants to tell her family in Connecticut and her family in New Jersey about what she found, how she wants answers, and how she wants to see Hannah. But, she knows that this will only hurt both families more. Sometimes, she wants to punch Hannah and yell and scream and cry and confess all of hear mixed feelings she's had since the whole jthing has happened. At other points, she wants to just get answers. She debates and argues with herself, trying to find the right answer. And what she does is a surprising turn of events. Janie, also, experiences character vs. character. Janie has so many feelings and thoughts about Hannah, her kidnapper. She has so many questions, but she struggles to face her problems. She's always planned that when she saw Hannah, she would be angry and yell and interrogate her, until she gets her answers. But, now that her plan is to talk to Hannah, calmly and wisely, she doesn't know what to say. She freezes up. Hannah has really messed up many innocent lives, including her own. Janie's past really was horrible and, maybe seeing Hannah, things might not turn out how she wanted it too. I really enjoyed reading this book because the details and suspense kept me reading. It made the book more interesting and it kept me on the edge of my seat. This realistic fiction book adds mystery and adventure, which kept me reading. Caroline B. Cooney does a really nice job including detail, which helps the reader understand and visualize the story better. I think someone who likes mystery/suspense would love this book. This book suits anyone who wants to finish the series or someone who likes a cliffhanger at the end. Mystery/suspense adds a great impact to the story and really keeps the reader reading. READ THIIS BOOK!
Read information about the authorCaroline Cooney knew in sixth grade that she wanted to be a writer when "the best teacher I ever had in my life" made writing her main focus. "He used to rip off covers from The New Yorker and pass them around and make us write a short story on whichever cover we got. I started writing then and never stopped!"
When her children were young, Caroline started writing books for young people -- with remarkable results. She began to sell stories to Seventeen magazine and soon after began writing books. Suspense novels are her favorites to read and write. "In a suspense novel, you can count on action."
To keep her stories realistic, Caroline visits many schools outside of her area, learning more about teenagers all the time. She often organizes what she calls a "plotting game," in which students work together to create plots for stories. Caroline lives in Westbrook, Connecticut and when she's not writing she volunteers at a hospital, plays piano for the school musicals and daydreams!
