Read full description of the books On the Other Hand:Nina Andrews is a woman who loves her life and considers it close to perfect. After twenty-eight years of marriage, she is still in love with her husband, Mike. Now that they are empty-nesters, they are looking forward to retirement and a life of leisure. Their financial planner, Pat McDermott, is successful professionally, but her personal life has been a disappointment. She has always admired the relationship that Mike and Nina have and envies them. Suddenly everything changes when Mike dies leaving Nina behind. Her overwhelming grief soon turns to anger and then depression. She tries to live outside her grief, but the next step seems impossible. Just when Nina thinks she is learning to endure, she crashes. As Nina struggles with her loss, Pat battles her own demons. Once burned by love, she is hesitant to open her life up to new possibilities. So when someone special appears in her life, every instinct tells her to be afraid. But whether she wants to or not, she is falling in love. Crushed by her grief, Nina carefully plans her suicide but just as she is about to carry out her plan, there is a knock at her door. The visitor she finds on the other side will change her life in ways she never dared dream.
Read information about the authorJune McCullough grew up in the three most western provinces of Canada, although her family never lived in one town or city long enough for her to consider any of them her hometown. In 1989 she moved back to central Alberta with her two children. She set down her roots and has lived there ever since.
Writing is something that June started so long ago; she can’t remember the first time she took pen to paper to write her first story. Although a busy life of working full time outside of the house and raising her children limited the time she could spend writing, she claims to have lost more stories during her many moves than most people have written.
June is a firm believer that you can make your dreams come true. Two of June’s dreams were traveling and becoming a published author. At the age of 43 she used her passport for the first time when she and her husband traveled to Fiji. And at the age of 58 her first novel, On the Other Hand was published.
With her first book so well received from the readers, she was able to go from working full time to working part time and her second novel Home to Stay was published.
She is currently writing her third novel Retribution, however, between book signings, still working part time, and life in general, she is finding it difficult to get the time she needs. Her goal is to have it available to the public by the end of 2013.
